Recently, Samsung has introduced a new version of smartphone which is called Galaxy S8. Samsung is no longer using “Edge”  due to no curved edge. Furthermore, they also have discontinued offering S-series with flat screen. For Galaxy S8, Samsung is offering two variants, namely Samsung Galaxy S8 with the screen size of 5.8 inches and Samsung Galaxy S8+ with the screen size of 6.2 inches. The major difference between these two variants is their screen size and battery capacities. Other features of these two smartphones are more less the same.
During the event launched by Samsung Galaxy S8 in Malaysia, one of the Samsung representatives mentioned that there are 3 main things about Galaxy S8 – screen design, smart production and it's behind ecosystem.

Design and Screen
Samsung Galaxy S8 introduced major changes in term of front design and at the same time try to maintain its Samsung “trademark” in term of its design. The defining feature of the Galaxy S8 twins is their oversized screens which is known as Infinity Displays. The screens on these phones curve around the sides making for a border-free look. For this model, Samsung made the decision to ditch its branding and the iconic physical Home button on the bottom. One of the distinguish feature of Galaxy S8 that their screens are longer than most. While many other smartphone screens stick to the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, Samsung built the Galaxy S8 screens with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio to squeeze more screen into one hand.

Samsung mentioned that they used the symmetrical design for this smartphone. When we grab the phone, it seems comfortable and fit in our hand due to its size. Few colours are available for this model namely gold, silver, blue, grey and black but we prefer black colour as its look more elegant.
Samsung Galaxy 8 with 5.8 inches screen is equipped with 3000mAH battery, meanwhile Galaxy S8+ with 6.2 inches screen with 3,500mAh capacity battery. The S8 battery stuck around for 13 hours and 27 minutes and S8 Plus and its 3,500mAh battery can be clocked in at 15 hours and 8 minutes.
Other notable features of this phone include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, fingerprint sensor at the back next to camera lens and iris scanner.

Camera
Samsung Galaxy S* used the 12-megapixel sensors on the back Photos were uniformly well-exposed with Dual Pixel technology. And as always, these dual-pixel cameras focus incredibly fast, and the optical image stabilization does an excellent job keeping subjects crisp and clear. Low-light performance was in line with the S7 cameras, which is no surprise since they both have 1.4┬Ám sensor pixels and f/1.7 apertures. Samsung says it improved the processing pipeline so there is no lag between capturing a shot and being ready to snap the next.
Conclusion
I prefer the Galaxy S8 to its larger sibling the Galaxy S8+, though. This is purely a taste issue, as I love how the S8 is comfortable in one hand, even with a case on. The S8+ adds a bit more battery life and a bigger screen but doesn't add any other functionality.  Samsung Galaxy S8 price in Malaysia is considering pretty affordably being the most luxurious, best-performing phone on the market right now.
